Status colors in Wello provide instant visual cues about the state of key objects such as Equipment, Work Orders, and Invoices, These colors help you quickly understand the condition or progress of an item at a glance—whether you’re working in the Portal or the Field Service App (FSA).

This guide explains how status colors work across different areas of Wello and where you will see them.

Equipment Status Colors

Equipment in Wello includes color-coded statuses that represent the operational state of each asset. Each status displays a color bar directly beneath the status word. These status help users quickly understand the equipment state, whether equipment is active, under maintenance, out of use, or archived.

Equipment status are visible when you open the equipment overview details and also on the equipment search page in the Portal, where each equipment record displays its status and color within the grid. The Field Service App shows the equipment status when you check the equipment overview details and when equipment is linked to work orders. You can configure equipment status and its colors in Settings > Setup Equipment > Status.

Work Order Status Colors

Work orders also use color-coded statuses that help users quickly identify their current stage. Each status displays a color bar directly beneath the status word. For example, green may indicate that a work order is active or in progress. These status appear on the status button in each work order overview details and on the work order search page in the Portal, and throughout the Field Service App for assigned work orders. Work order status and its colors can be modified in Settings > Work Orders > Status.

Invoice Status Colors

Invoices in Wello include color-coded statuses to make financial progress easy to understand. Each status displays a color bar directly beneath the status word. A common example is green, which shows that an invoice has been fully paid. You will find these invoice status on an invoice in the invoice module, as well as on the invoice details page. Invoice status can be customised in Settings > Sales > Invoice Status.

Technician Roles

Technician roles are visually represented using colored user icons. A fully colored white or black user icon indicates that the technician is the leader of the work order, while an outlined white icon shows that the technician is a team member but not the leader.

These icons appear on the planning board for work orders assigned to multiple technicians, in the work order overview details, and in the FSA app under the planning information section for all assigned work orders.

Unavailability Types Colors

Unavailability types in Wello can be assigned different colors to make it easier to distinguish between various reasons a technician may be unavailable. These colors appear beside its types when adding unavailability in the Portal and in the Field Service App. They also appear clearly on the planning board, allowing planners to immediately identify unavailability periods and their types. You can configure these in Settings > Manage Time > Unavailability.

Planning Status Colors

The planning interface in Wello includes tabs for different work order categories such as To Be Planned, Planned, and Pooled. The work order in each category is color-coded to indicate the type and status of the work orders it contains. Colors also appear directly on each work order on the planning board, helping planners quickly recognise the work order type and its current status without opening the work order details.

Status colors are used throughout the Wello interface to support quick interpretation of object states without needing to open or read detailed information.
