Marketing Segment in Portal and Field Service App

Introduction

Marketing Segment is a dropdown field used to group and classify customer accounts (for example: Wholesale, Retail, etc.).

In Wello, accounts can be segmented in many ways such as status, source, industry, segment, and channel. This helps the business to organise customers properly.

These segmentations can also be used in:

  • Business intelligence dashboards for reporting

  • Linking Wello with a marketing solution to run more targeted campaigns

Where is Marketing Segment used?

In the Field Service App (FSA)

Marketing Segment is visible in the customer overview screen when adding new or updating an existing customer.

Please note (for existing customer):

  • Field users/technician can see the value

  • The value cannot be changed directly in the field service app

  • For any updates, you need to contact your manager or admin

In the Portal

Marketing Segments are created and managed in the Portal.

Once a segment is configured, it automatically becomes available as a dropdown option in the Field Service App.

After the segment has been created in the Portal, you can assign it to an account by navigating to: Account Overview tab → More Details dropdown → Marketing Information section → Segment field.

Where to configure Marketing Segments in the Portal

To configure Marketing Segments, go to:

Portal → Settings → Sales → Marketing Segments


From here, you can Add / Edit / Delete marketing segment values.

How to add a new Marketing Segment (step-by-step)

  1. Open Portal

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Click Sales

  4. Open Marketing Segments

  5. Click + Add

  6. Fill in the required details: Organization, Marketing Segment, Visit frequency, descriptions.

  7. Click Save

After saving, the segment will start appearing in the dropdown list in the app and portal.
